You are correct. The only places we support reading / writing PDF files are:
- The local device
- Adobe Document Cloud (Acrobat.com)
- Adobe Creative Cloud
We often hear from users that they would like us to support more cloud solutions (like iCloud, Box or OneDrive), but rarely hear from users who want to read/write from a server. Can you please share more about what type of server you would like to use? Is it SMB? WebDAV? Other? Unknown? Thank you for contacting us.
Im connecting using WebDAV on a MAC OS Yosemite Server and don't not want to use your cloud ... why is that such a problem ... i have template type PDF documents that need to remain templates on the server but when opened and filled out they need to be saved back to the server with iPad is this possible ... if not ... why not ... it seems like a simple feature ...
This is not so much a problem as a capability that we've never implemented. We don't hear the request for WebDAV often (in fact, it's probably the first time I've heard it in the last couple of years) so we've chosen to focus on capabilities that more users have asked for. We do appreciate the feedback, but don't have plans to implement this in the near future. It's likely that we will add connections to other clouds before we add WebDAV because more users ask for these.
WebDAV, SMB, AFP ... does it matter .. im really surprised you have never had this type of request ... it seems so basic and logical ... forcing users into the cloud is that part of the business model (not trying to be snarky) ... thanks
