How do you draw curved lines on a cylinder

I am trying to draw a round grain elevator and am having trouble keeping the lines in perspective from top to bottom. Tried several ideas, but can not seem to get it to work correctly. See picture attached.

As you can tell, the curvature shifts to a different direction as you go down the structure. I know there has to be a technique but I can't seem to figure it out! (The photo is from Niverville, Manitoba taken around 1911 of the oldest grain elevator in Canada. Sadly it was torn down in the 1920s.
