I just upgraded to Lightroom 6. I lost the ability to drag and drop images to different folders within Lightroom. I click the photo, move it to the folder (a white + sign in a green circle appears) but there is no movement and I can't drag them to the folders on the left side of Lightroom.
I've seen this issue brought up before but no solution has been offered outside of "make sure you're clicking the image and not the surrounding box." I've done that, restarted Lightroom, restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom, and spent many time in searching the internet to resolve the issue without success.
I can create folders within Lightroom, but also those folders can not be moved. I only can delete them.
I'll keep looking for a solution but this impedes my workflow so much that I don't think I can work with Lightroom anymore.
I'm running OS X 10.8.5 on an iMac 27"
Try deleting your preference file
Also, check the permissions on the folders involved, make sure you have WRITE permission on both folders.
Do you have Write permission on the Origin and destination?
Repairing permissions at OS level might help you solving this issue.Run Disk Repair on your MAC.
You made my day!
I removed /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Lightroom6.plist
After that I started Lightroom and it is working!
THX a lot!!!
