I have been trying to convert a pdf file into excel (xlsx) on both mac and windows.
In both platforms, I encountered the same problem; for example, if the pdf file has a sentence: "prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 mathematics and so on....", on the converted excel, it appears as " >ÃÃiÃÃiÌ".
I have been googling, but could not find any satisfactory answers yet.
Please help me out.
P.S the pdf was created in 2005-6, and I had the same (or similar) problems with the pdf created in 2009.
Could you please let me know what version of Acrobat and Office you are using.
Also, please check if this issue appears with all files or some specific one.
Check under "File > Properties > Fonts" whether the fonts in the PDF are embedded or not.
Let me know.
Hi Anubha Goel,
I am using Microsoft office 2016 for Mac, and Acrobat 2015.009.20077.
the issue happens with some specific ones -- but when I copy and paste directly from the pdf file, it works.
some fonds in the PDF are embedded -- this includes Zapf Dingbats, EurostileT, Humanist521BT.
I really appreciate your help,
