Did that computer come with Windows 7 or 8 initially?
I've seen a number of folks with issues with their graphics drivers when updating to Windows 10. Look around online for how folks solved their graphics driver issues with Windows 10 and that may likely solve your AE issue.
The computer came with 10. I've had Dell on the phone s number of times updating the drivers and current hit still doesn't work. I have another computer with Windows 7 and it works great. Unfortunately that computer doesn't have the best graphics card.

The good news is that, unless you're using Element 3d, Red Giant Universe, or some other third-party plugin that uses the GPU, what graphics card you have is fairly irrelevant for AE. (Unless you're using the obsolete ray-traced renderer to create 3d shapes, but very few people use that anymore...) See this page: GPU (CUDA, OpenGL) features in After Effects CS6 and After Effects CC
When does it crash? Does it pop up any errors? If so, what are they? Could you share your crash logs? (You can put the full crash log on Paste Bin or something similar and just put the first little chunk of it on here.)
After I removed the Adobe CC 2015, and reinstalled CC 2014, I have had no problems with Windows 10. Crossing my fingers Thanks!
