Lightroom 6 is already compatible with Windows 10.
However Lightroom 6 will not install on 32 bit operating system.
Please check the System Requirements for Lightroom 6 : System requirements for Photoshop Lightroom for Mac and Windows OS
Let me know if it helps.
What message or behavior are you seeing that leads you to believe LR 6 is not compatible with Windows 10?
I am having a problem which I think is incompatibility of LR6 with Windows 10. When I start LR6 it asks me which catalog I wish to open as usual. However, following that, it freezes on the pane which shows a picture of trees and a long list of names (presumably those involved in the development). At this point there is nothing that I can do except force the program to close. Can anyone help?
Have you tried to deactivate the GPU support in the settings?
I'm afraid I don't know where to find GPU support. Lightroom doesn't start, so I can't access any of the menus in the Lightroom programme.
It will probably be necessary for you to do it manually. These instructions from an Adobe website should help:
Manually disable the graphics processor
If you can't launch Lightroom, or Lightroom crashes before you can clear the Use Graphics Processorcheckbox, here's how to manually disable this preference:
- Navigate to %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs.
- Open the file Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs in TextEdit.
- Change the line useAutoBahn = true to this line: useAutoBahn = false
- Save and close the file Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs.
- Launch Lightroom again.
Thanks for the suggestion Jim,
I have just tried that now, but it still hangs at the same place before Lightroom opens fully.
Any other suggestions?
My only suggestion would be to reinstall Lightroom.
OK, I will see if I can work out how to do that - I'm not keen on buying another license, so hope it can be reinstalled without another purchase.
