I'm a HS school teacher and I have a student who when he creates a new text box in InDesign and types in it, the words have a gradient automatically applied to them. I figure it's a preference issue but I can't fix it. Why did it suddenly start to do this and how can I correct it? Thanks.
Options du style d'objet "Bloc de texte standard" [in French]
As mentioned above, it could be applied to all new text by the [Basic Paragraph] style where it may have been applied inadvertently, or, it was directly applied while nothing was selected, which makes it the default for all new text.
To check the former, with nothing selected, double-click the [Basic Paragraph] style in the Paragraph Style panel, then click Character Color to see the targeted default swatch.
To check the latter, with nothing selected, go to the Swatches panel and click the T button. The swatch which becomes targeted will be applied by default to new text.
It worked! What a relief! Thank you so much for helping.
