Can I downsave CC to CS5?

    l-cook Level 1

I am about to buy a new computer for work and plan to get Adobe Creative Cloud for that computer.  However, I also frequently have to work from home, and my home computer has CS5.  I am a designer and regularly use Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.

Can I downsave from CC in these programs and have it consistently be compatible with CS5?  If so, what are the settings I should use when doing so?

I just want to be sure this workflow will be effective, as I am only buying the new computer so I can use Creative Cloud (my current computer is too old).

      Thanks for your help!

Standard files such as JPG are version independent

Proprietary Adobe files, such as for InDesign and Illustrator, are NOT backward compatible due to new program features which change the saved file's internal structure

I don't use InDesign and Illustrator so I don't know if they have a "save as" feature to save for an older program
