Could you please explain in a bit more detail what your issue is. Are you getting the exact same error message as the original post? You told us your GPU, what is the rest of your software? What is the rest of your hardware? What OS are you using? What version of AE are you using?
Sorry about that. After reading 80 posts about the issue, I forgot to mention details!
I'm using After Effects CS6. When I open AE, I get this error message:
Last log message was: <140735265768192> <AppDirs> <5> Required Dir = /Applications/Adobe After Effects CS6/Adobe After Effects CS6.app/Contents/Required
And then it crashes. I cannot open the DVD player either.
That's a very different message about a very different issue!
Let me take a guess: you have a Mac operating system.
I'm going to further guess that you have upgraded the OS on your computer somewhat recently.
Is that correct?
If so, you have the typical fouling up of permissions that Mac OSX seems to do every time it gets upgraded. fixing permissions problem that impedes start of Adobe applications
Ok. I've just desinstalled and reinstalled AE today. Before this new installation, I wasn't getting this error message. It just wouldn't open. Now, this is true that this message is different.
I'm running Yosemite on my Mac. I've never upgraded my OS on this computer. Even when the computer was new, AE was not working. And even after a clean install it was not either.
Should I still look into the permission issue?
Thank you for your time
Nope, didn't help. Everything was read and write. I've changed everything to read only and then back to read and write. Still getting the same error message. Any other hint for me?
Check the folder it says it wishes were there, is it there?
If it is, check its permissions too. If they're correct, try deleting it and launching AE again.
If it isn't there, try creating it and launching AE again.
If that's not it, uninstall, run Adobe's CC Cleaner software, and reinstall.
