I am attempting to load my CS6 software onto a new MacBook Air from my iMAC, where the installation was done via disk. This would be my second allowable computer. The files made it over, however when I attempt to install, I receive a message: "You can't open the application "Install" because it may be damaged or incomplete. Is this a faulty way to install the software on the new computer? Is there a way to download the software from the Creative Cloud basic service that would be better and if so, how do I find that option?
Thanks so much for any ideas and help.
You can download the installers here: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
Be aware that CS6 is unsupported under El Capitan and many issues have been reported here. CS6 has reached EOL and will not be updated to make it compatible.
That is sad, but not unexpected. Planned obsolescence is frustrating.
They kept it updated through several O/S upgrades. There’s a point where it’s just not feasible to keep spending money to support old versions of software.
