Can I install an AIR application on one shared disk drive
(Windows) and have many people access the application without each
person having to installing it on their local machine?
If the answer to this question is "Yes" then I'll dive into
AIR and learn it. One of the problems with Java, Perl and others is
that each person accessing the application must do an
"installation" of some kind. If I write a C or C++ program which
creates a stand-alone executable (for Windows, in this case) then
just double-clicking it runs it with no other installation needed.
I'm getting into Flex on my own first ... later AIR, but if I
get the right answer to this question I can get AIR into my
no, it will need to be installed on each of the machines. I'm
getting ready to roll out Air to a good chunk of computers here at
my office; we are starting out with a few hundred, but I think we
have over 6k devices in total.
Adobe has some great easy to follow instructions for setting
up Air via SMS.
