What is the exact unedited word-for-word error message?
What version number of Lightroom?
What exact operating system version number?
Which version of Lightroom do you have on Mac ?
Which operating system : Windows or Mac?
Did you us Nikon Transfer on your mac to download the raw images to machine?
If yes, avoid Nikon Transfer and directly import the raw files in Lightroom from sd card as Nikon Transfer is known to cause damage to the raw files.
Can you be more specific?
By "downloading," do you mean importing into Lr from say an SD card? what happens when you do so? What do you mean by not "accepting" the photos?
What kind of error message are you getting? Quote it exactly, please.
If it says that the files cannot be read, it means they cannot be written. Not the greatest error message. Anyway, if that's the case, you'll have to change the permissions on the folder that you are copying to, so that you are allowed to write there.
(If you're trying to write to an external disk that you used on your Windows machine, it is probably formatted in such a way that the Mac treats it as read-only. There are programs you can get that let Macs write to those disks.)
If that isn't the error message, let us know.
You must use the Import command in Lightroom to add your photographs to your Lightroom catalog library. It doesn't matter whether those photos currently reside in a folder on your Mac or on an SD card - you still have to Import them. You also can choose to leave the original folder where it is ADD them to your Lightroom catalog, or Copy the files or MOVE them to another folder. (These options appear at the top of the import window.) Personally, on my Macintosh, I created a folder just for photos imported into my Lightroom catalog and I convert the NEF files to DNG, because DNG files keep metadata and are a tad smaller. I save my NEF files into a folder called ORIGINAL PHOTOs as a backup on an external drive.
1. The following files were not imported because they could not be read
2. Nikon D5200
3. LIghtroom Version 4
4. OS 10.10.5
The following files were not imported because they could not be read
We tried unlocking the files under the permissions to the folder but it didnt seem to work. Do you change just have to unlock the folder that you are saving to?
I believe you must be using Lightroom 4.3 to read D5200 RAW files. Is that the version you are using?

Hey kushals36428982, you just jumped into this thread that's a year old, you make a statement that's not even a complete sentence ... we'd like you to explain your situation from scratch, from the beginning, providing enough details so we can understand what is happening to you, and you MUST state the version number of Lightroom you are using and your operating system.
