for canon eos 7D, you need cr 5.6 or better (which you have).
are you sure that's your cameras name and not a 70D?
to update to the latest cr, update your program, http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
Yes it's a Canon 7D Mark II.
I found that downloading the DNG converter made it possible to open them in Raw but shouldn't there be some software update that will make ACR run without that additional step to convert them? Does ACR not support a Canon 7D Mark II?
It's a real pain to take that extra step and is creating lots of extra time in my photo processing work flow when editing images for my photography clients.
Thanks for your reply and I appreciate your help!
the 7d mark ii is not the same as the 7d.
the mark ii needs cr 8.7 or better and ps cs5 can't be updated beyond cr 6.7.
your options are to continue using the dng converter or upgrade ps (to cs6 or better).
