well apparently the preloader is coming up when doing this it just takes much longer,
Is there anyway to speed this up, even if I just make it some text that says "Loading", having a blank page for 5 seconds can confuse the user.
By the way I am talking about the default preloader that comes up before your application initializes.
Thanks for the link, I knew I wasn't crazy! lol
I voted for it too, kinda lame, hope they fix it by Flex 4.

This bug doesn't seem to get much attention. I think most Flexers shy away from deep-linking because of issues like this. Besides annoyances like this bug, you are also virtually forced to either set your creationPolicy to all (in case someone linked to something in a deeper state) or work around it by creating variables bound to the URL's values and keeping them in sync as the visitor moves around (don't forget the try..catch blocks because some children may not exists yet) yada yada yada.
So using Deep Linking sounds good on paper, and visitors expect it, but it is just waaaay work to implement it. Adobe's just got to make it easier if they want to kill off one of the biggest arguments against using Flex. JMO (Just my opinion). Voting for this bug to be fixed would go a long way towards helping the situation. I mean, why bother branding your application with a custom preloader (to remind customers who did this awesome work) when you are using Deep Linking and no one can see it working properly? What kind of impression does THAT leave?
