Change startup in InDesign to "Advanced" panel how it used to be!

I am running macs, El Capitan. InDesign boots up into the "Start" panel (as in workspace)

It used to open in the "Advanced" workspace. No matter what I do (dumped prefs, default prefs, caches, reset defaults, dumped workspace caches)

Reset workspace via contextual menu, also via the panel. No go.

      It still opens in "Start"

      Anyone running into this.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
