There is no such thing as CS9.2.
InDesign version 9.2 is InDesign CC
CC2014 is version 10
CC2015 is version 11
Why can’t you use the files you’re receiving and what version of the software and operating system are you using?
I don't know why it's not working... IdCC is not opening the .indd files sent to me by colleagues... very frustrating.
I am using OS X 10.11.2
What is the EXACT error message you see when you try to open these files?
What's happening when you try to open them?
Is your InDesign CC fully up to date (version 220.127.116.11)?
OK all - many thanks for the replies here...
I stripped all adobe apps from by box and then re-connected with CC - it took a while, but this seems to have resolved the issue(s)...
Again - many thanks.
I saw that he figured out the problem but I ran into the same thing with an indesign file that I couldn't open in my CS6 and I got the message that it was saved in (CS9.2) so I had no idea what that was, the entire error was:
Cannot open "Insert filename here" because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign (CS9.2).
You must use that version or later to open the file. To then enable it to be opened in this version, choose Save As InDesign CS4 or later, or export to IDML.
So I can understand the confusion considering CS9.2 doesn't even exist, so why would Adobe say that in an error message?
I know that everything was solved but I hope this error message could be changed by someone so less people would get confused in the future.
Error messages for CS6 were written before the numbering scheme for CC was finalized. If you are still getting that particular error message it means you need to update your copy of InDesign to the latest patch which will correct the error message as well as fix other bugs.
