    Lightroom hangs on launch

    _MikeyB Level 1

Morning, please can somebody help me.

I'm running Windows 10, 64-bit Pro and Lightroom CC 2015.3.

After a reboot I can only open Lightroom once, if I close it down and relaunch, it hangs (without an application error and I can not kill the process either and when I try to reboot Windows after the hang I have to physically power the box off as it won't shut down) and the event viewer is kicking up this error:

Faulting application name: Adobe CEF Helper.exe, version: 3.4.2.183, time stamp: 0x56659f58

      Faulting package full name:

I thought it might be to do with the Sign out - Sign in issue which I shouldn't have to do every single time I run the app, and I've also tried disabling using the GPU thinking it might be that but with no success.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Have a look at this thread and see if it helps.

            lightroom CC not loading

With respect to the Sign Out / Sign In issue try using the Quit Lightroom option from the Lightroom menu bar.

            Sign Out = Deactivate

            Sign In = Activate

Thanks Per, I'll give that a try and see how I get on.

Thanks - I've tried the sign out and sign in options but don't want to do that everytime I open Lightroom.

If you use the quit option you should not have to Sign In the next time you start Lightroom.

I have posted some more suggestions in the other thread that DdeGannes linked to in post 3.

Thanks for everyone who's taken their time to reply, much appreciated as this has been doing my head in for a few weeks.

What I have done - and everything is running smoothly again is, delete all the preferences, delete all the cache including any smart or 1:1 previews and it's now working as expected.

I'll keep this thread up to date if I get the problem again and I'll try narrow down the actual problem and solution but hopefully this may help somebody.

What do you mean all preferences?
