Are you using Yosemite or El Capitan? I'm finding more and more issues with El Capitan and Premiere Elements.
That said, do you save your project immediately before you close?
What happens if you go to Preferences/Media and clear the media cache before you close?
What steps are you using the close the program and how long are you waiting before you force close it?
Do you have the same problems if you're in a New Project with no media in it?
It appears you responded to the e-mail feed rather than posting directly to the forum -- which is why your response posted blank to the forum.

I have a few questions apart from the ones' already asked by Steve.
- Have you always faced this issue with PRE 14?
- Have you updated to 14.1 yet?
Hi Steve with reference to your questions
I use EL Capitan
Yes I save projects before closing
I haven't cleared the media cache before closing
I use CMD Q to close the program. The busy circle comes up after that. I wait about 30 seconds and then force quit from the mac menu.
Yes I have the same problem with new project with no media.
I have not used earlier versions of this.
Yes its updated to 14.1.
Why don't you try clearing the media cache first and see if that makes a difference?
As I've said, El Capitan is the real wild card here. Whenever Adobe or Apple introduces an update, they each blame the other when Adobe's problems suddenly get weird. on OSX. The last couple of OSX updates haven't had a lot a challenges -- but El Capitan seems to have introduced some very weird behavior.
Hi. I tried clearing the media cache but that didn't help. Everything else works just fine on El Capitan including other media editing software. Im not sure how the OS is to blame here for weird behaviour.
