I created an InDesign document with several layers (images and text) and exported it as a high quality pdf to send to a printer. I kept all the layers and dis not flatten them. So this is my question...When is it better to flatten layers in an InDesign document for printing? Is it even necessary? Having already sent the PDF created in InDesign (layers were not flattened just left alone) to the printer to be looked at tomorrow Monday ..do I need to also send a flattened version? Please advise and thank you in advance for your help!!
Ideally the printer should provide a set of custom job options, or tell you which preset to use. If there's a problem, they should let you know tomorrow when they look at your PDF.
