I am trying to import pictures from my hard drive that were copied from my wife's iphone 6s, also happens with ones from my 6s plus. The pictures show up in the import dialog, but the import just hangs, and throws an error "no pictures or video" found when I cancel the import.
I have renamed the .mov files for the live pictures to avoid conflicts with the jpgs. I have also purged the cache. When I then quit Lightroom it leaves a task running, that i have to cancel in Task manager before I can restart LR.
Running 2015.3 through CC on W10, both update to date.
Try removing the mov files. There is a strange bug in the current lightroom that will make import hang if there are movie files present. This doesn't happen for everybody but only for a few people. You should also make sure your quicktime is updated to the very latest version. For some strange reason this helps. Adobe also posted a solution to some of these import failures in this thread: Lightoom 6.3: After update I can't open any video files
Thanks Jao. I had tried renaming the .mov files already. Quicktime is up to date. I did force some images to import, after optimizing the catalog, but it's still not a great experience. The .mov files should be automatically recognized as not the jpgs, and not raw either.
