Cannot install Adobe Flash Player on my new Mac

I recently purchased a new iMac but I cannot seem to be able to install Flash Payer. I have downloaded and run the installer, and the progress bar starts. But then it stops, disappears and I am presented again with the installer window. However when I try again to click on 'Install Flash Player', nothing happens.

I am using Safari and the latest OS as of December 2015.
