What computer operating system or systems are involved (computer 1 and computer 2)?
The message is probably referring to MPEG2 Activation needed for Premiere Elements on this second computer.
If you go through the computer links for this code, you probably ran into a message that MPEG2 Activation is no longer available for Premiere Elements 8 and earlier.
1. Did you update 3.0 to 3.0.2 on this second computer?
2. Do you still have Premiere Elements 3.0/3.0.2 still installed on the first computer?
3. Typical questions - are you running the programs as administrator (from user account with administrative privileges)? Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer?
Thanks for replying.
The old computer runs with Windows XP.
2nd computer runs with Windows 7 Pro (32 bit).
I just updated to 3.0.2 on 2nd computer and updated QuickTime.
Still the same message re activation code for MPEG2 (up to and including PE8).
Re Q3 about administrators – I don’t think so.
BTW I’ve had PE8 installed in comp # 2 for several years and that still lets me burn DVDs in the programme.
Any other suggestions please?
Thanks for the reply.
Please rule in or out the variable of the programs not being run as administrator (from user account with administrative privileges).
Does you Windows 7 32 bit have the Service Pack 1 installed?
Have you gone through at least one uninstall reinstall for Premiere Elements 3/3.0.2 on Windows 7 32 bit? Perhaps do a free ccleaner run through in between uninstall reinstall.
