    merging black and white scanned images


      I am trying to merge (and align) three scanned black and white TIFF images of old photos (dimension of each image is 2480 x 3508).

      The images are overall of good quality (low noise), have small overlaps and are pretty well aligned (minimal cropping should be needed on merged image).

      I tried using the Photo Merge options but I get unknown error or "not enough info to estimate the camera motion".

      Not sure what to do next....

          What version or LR? Although there are a few problems being reported with the latest  (6.4), it sound like your problem is the "small overlap". The automatic merge to pano algorithms generally require a very generous overlap to work correctly. 30-40% overlap for each picture is typical. Sounds to me that you may have to do this manually in PS.

            Thank you for the useful reply.

            I updated to the latest LR version, and at least now I can see the images inside of the Panorama window with different projections.

            However, once I select Merge, the application crashes with this error:
