You know what they say "It's not a question of if but when?"  I have had a redundant backup system for my files for a few years now.  I have a 3TB desktop drive and a 2TB portable that I back each other up to.  I recently upgraded my computers HD and needed to create a mirror image of the old HD.  So in a moment of weakness I formated the external desktop HD put my mirror image on that and went to work, My portable HD, which was now my only copy of everything, had a problem and all of my pictures are gone.  I called Transcend and the gave me the recovery software and I ran it and recovered over 300,000 files. set up in 635 recup_dir files.  When I called them they said I had to sort through them to find what I need.  I looked at my now confused LR and it says there are almost 64,000 pictures missing, not really a pin in a haystack, but as close as I ever want to be to that.  Anyone have an idea or experience on the best way to go about this?  I'm hurting... LOL
