Are you on a Mac or PC? What operating system? I have been getting lots of AE crashes in 13.6 and now 13.7 on my 5K iMac. It seems to be related to RAM previews and/ or audio. Sometimes just the application crashes and sometimes a system crash and restart. Maybe moving the media cache folder to another location? Do you get any crash reports that might give some info? I only have 5 crashes or so per day, so I have auto-save set to every 10 minutes. I think it is El Capitan issues that is causing it. Other Adobe applications are stable. Maybe in the next update!

the latest 13.7 AE update makes it impossible to launch Cinema 4D.
Attempts to Edit Original (any saved C4D project) result in:
"Installation Error. CINEMA 4D version (16.038) does not match Resource folder version (16.028)! Please reinstalla CINEMA 4D correctly!"
reverting to AE 13.5 version allows NEW C4D projects to launch, but
AE/C4D projects saved PRIOR to the 13.7 debacle won't launch C4D.
I recently installed Windows 10 Pro version 1511
