    I can't upload music files

    lawrenceb29085645

I just downloaded Elements 14 and it wiped out all the musical scores to all the other project I've created on earlier version of Elements.  I also can't upload any new music files to a new project.  I has numerous songs from DVDs and from I-Tunes that I used on previous videos I created, but the musical scores are all gone.  What happened?

Are you on windows or mac ?

What type of error you got while adding any music score to your project ?

I'm on Window's 7. The reply I get is, "File format not supported/ One of the necessary components may not have been installed."  I think this is a security feature on the I-Tune download, but I've done it many times before on an early version of Elements when I was on Vista.  It also erased all my downloaded music on other prior project.  Plus, I now see I could have purchased Elements 14 from Amazon for $69.99 rather than the $99.99 I paid.  This is turning into a bad deal.

Note that many iTunes songs are copy protected and, when you try to add them to a video project, they will throw up an error code.

For best results use only WAV audio and music files in your project. You can convert virtually any audio to a WAV using the free download Audacity.

I'm trying to download Audacity from the following linkhttp://everydownload.net/usac2/gem/audacity/?t202id=34699&c1=audacityfreedownload&t202kw=audacityfreedownload&kw=AudacityFreeDownload&mkwid=axvkCp9a&crid=&mp_kw=&mp_mt=e&pdv=c

but my MacAfee software says it's a bad download and contains viruses.  Are you sure this is safe?

I found on-line how to convert I-Tunes songs to a WAV format.  It worked without having to download anything.  Thanks.

                    Great news, Lawrence!

There are a number of ways to convert iTunes into a usable WAV, but some involve several steps. I just find Audacity easiest -- but whatever works for you is all that matters!
