You're going to have to volunteer a lot more information about versions, cameras, computers and operating systems. Nobody can begin to guess how to help without what you offered.
I agree with Bill. At the very least tell us what model of camcorder your video is coming from and what resolution it is.
Also, which version of the program are you using on what operating system -- and have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements?
The camera is a Canon Vixia HF R20 A, I have Windows 7, connection is USB
So have you manually gone to Windows Update to ensure you have all of the latest updates, including the non-critical updates that Windows doesn't install automatically? And have you got the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements?
Your camcorder shoots in a number of formats and resolution. Have you got it set up to 1920x1080 AVC?
Did you use Premiere Elements' Video Importer (Add Media, from Cameras and Devices) to get the video from the camcorder to your computer?
Again, the more details you can provide, the easier it will be for us to help you, gary. Brief and incomplete answers don't give us much to work with.
I have all the updates but I am not sure about Quicktime, also nothing on my camcorder or PC has changed since I did my last imports and movie in Sept.
You definitely need Quicktime. That's a program system requirement.
I'll await your answers to my other questions.
