So we can help you, please tell us what operating system you're running. What type of font is it (PostScript Type 1, TrueType or OpenType?) Where have you installed it?
Hello Steve. Thanks for replying.
I'm using Windows 7. The font is TrueType. I've installed it to the system Font folder i.e. Control Panel - Appearance and Personalization - Fonts.
I installed it as part of the Helvetica family, but while Light, Oblique and Bold Oblique have all installed OK and are showing in ID, Bold is not.
Let me know if you need more info. Help greatly appreciated!
Does it work in other applications, like Word?
Is it listed separately in ID?
Hi Peter. I can select Helvetica in Word, but none of the variant styles. In Photoshop I have the same prob as ID - all the Helvetica styles are showing with the exception of Bold.
Sorry - not sure what you mean about it being listed separately in ID. If I select Helvetica as the font, all the variant styles are selectable from the drop-down menu below the font, but Bold appears below them written as [Bold]. Is that what you mean?
It could be a corrupt font. How did you acquire it?
Supplied to me by the designer of a magazine I'm sub-editing.
I'm observing that we currently have two threads going about Windows TrueType fonts which don't appear to work in InDesign CC 2015:
Perhaps we have uncovered a new bug (that would only affect some TrueType fonts in Windows).
Perhaps you could post the font so another Windows user (Peter?) could try it out?
How can I post the font - there are no attachment options on the reply and I don't seem to be allowed to upload via the 'Uploaded File' option.
Let me know and I'll get it posted asap.
