Should be fine for the processor, but you might want to increase the RAM.
But when I try to open the program on this computer, I keep getting messages saying the plug-ins are not recognized.
I thought it was because this is not a 74 bit processor???
My other cs6 programs work on both this and my mac air
also have 4 gigs ram and
VRAM (Total): 384 MB
VRAM (Dynamic, Max): 10
is that enough?
It sounds more like you are trying to open a file saved in a newer version of InDesign. What's the exact error message?
In my opinion the video ram is a low, but that won't prevent ID from running.
can i upload jpeg of error messages
for example. Adobe etc does not recognize adobe incopy bridge does not recognize incopy.bridge.indesignplugin as a valid plug in…
What version of InDesign and OS? have you run all the available updates for your version?
These may not be all the plug-ins that are not recognized.
The error messages says Adobe Indesign does not register < > as a valid plug-in. Please reinstall the < > plug-in and restart InDesign
EPS Page Item.IndesignPlugin
I think there was at least one Blurb plug-in
I look forward to your seponse!
CS6 Indesign, OS X 10.9.5, and there do not appear to be any updates,
but am not sure because I have not been able to open it.
Please list of unrecognizable plug-ins in most recent email.
The last update for perpetual license versions of CS6 was 8.0.2. You can download it from Adobe - InDesign : For Macintosh : Adobe InDesign CS6 8.0.2 update - All Languages.
If that doesn't solve the problem, create a new user account on the Mac and see if InDesign starts in that account and let us know.
How did you install InDesign? Via original installer or via migration from another computer or a backup or timemachine?
Only installing from original installer will work!.
i did install it from adobe web site
Could not open that version….
The error message said “this is not for you”!
ok tho not sure how to create a new user account
""This is not for you?" Exactly that? Only that?
Yes "this is not for you", just to bolster up my conspiracy complex for the day.
Well anyway now I did change user names since I have 2 partitions/users on this computer
The screen said I have free cc so downloaded indesign, but it is only a trial copy.
Initially someone at adobe said I could have cs6 for free since I already own cs6 on my macbook air.
Photoshop and acrobat work on other partition but I want cs6 with this larger screen.
My air has the faster processor so quite possibly the files will not be compatible which is another issue.
I am not sure it is worth my time to redo some of the stuff I am working on just because this has a bigger screen.
Also why do I have to pay eventually for cc indesign, when they said I could have a 2nd copy of the one I own.
All the best. What do you think of the questions I am raising here? Can/will they waive the charges for continuing with this cs6 and can I open other files made on air.
Screen captures of the actual error messages would be extremely helpful, as well as double-checking the versions you are trying to run.
To be very clear, your existing perpetual license for CS6 entitles you to install and activate on two computers, for use by a single user (you), but not at the same time (and nobody will check). That's the only "free" CS6 you have. If you also purchase a subscription to Creative Cloud, the CS6 programs are included as part of that subscription, but to use them you must continue to pay the subscription fee.
well I can open my old files, so this is very tempting. the screen said I have free cc,
but what does it cost to just have ccindesign
though then would need to move other cs6 programs to this user or something.
I'm sure you understand what programs you have running on what computers, but at this point I have no clue, and if you don't provide the information that I have been requesting I can't help you.
