    Indesign 11.2 fails to open unless I Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Win10)

If anyone can offer any possible solutions I'd be really grateful.

Indesign suddenly will only successfully open if I hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift and open it without preferences. I've deleted my preferences as per the links in the forum, I've uninstalled and reinstalled and I haven't added any new fonts in a long time.

Without using the 3-finger salute the application opens and draws the menus and the background and then simply becomes unresponsive. The only hint I have about what might be going on is that sometimes the window for the application looks to be WAY larger than the screen - and I'm on a 4k monitor so I wonder if it's something to do with the built-in UI display scaling causing the problem?

Like I say this is a bit of a drag and if anyone has a suggestion I'd love to hear it.
