Are you using the desktop Acrobat Pro app on a Windows or Mac computer?
You posted your question to the Acrobat Reader mobile forum. But I can move it to an appropriate forum.
Thank you for pointing this out, I could not find more appropriate forum, I am using adobe acrobat pro dc on Windows
The top-level Acrobat (desktop app) forum page is here: https://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat
As you can see, there are a lot of sub-forums.
I will move this discussion to the Editing & Exporting PDFs sub-forum for now. (It's not a perfect match. But you must be editing something in Acrobat Pro. )
Adobe staff and/or desktop Acrobat experts will assist you shortly.
Please specify the OS version.
Try to update Acrobat to the latest patch and also repair it once.
Let us know if that helps.
We are running WINDOWS 7 on 64bit PC, I have so far tried to open same file on different PC running Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, but distortion did not go away. I will update by Adobe Acrobat XI Pro as well as Adobe Acrobat DC Pro on other pc and let you know if anything changed.
Could you pls provide us the responses to the following queries:
1. Producer of the PDF (e.g. Illustrator, Indesign)
2. What type of content was there in the PDF (text/images/graphics)
3. What actions did you perform on the document that resulted in the crash. It would be great if you could list down the steps so that we can have a look at it.
