You can sync capture time by following the steps mentioned in this article : How To Sync Multiple Camera Time Stamps In Lightroom 4 - Digital Photography School
I did not get your second query regarding sort display as individual cameras.
I read that article and that's exactly what I did and the capture times
changed to what I wanted but when I select Sort by Capture time, the pics
still display one camera first and then the second and then the third!
That is my dilemma .

Triple-check that you've set the year, month, day, and time exactly correct. Given the small fonts and the hard-to-read grey color scheme, it's not uncommon to miss that you've set the wrong year, for example. If that still doesn't help, please post a full-resolution screenshot of your LR Library view showing the problem. Make sure you've got the date/time showing under the Library thumbnails (do View > View Options). (You can't attach the screenshot to an email reply -- you need to come back to the Web to upload it.)
Thanks johnrellis, I guess the key word was ''triple check'', apperantly one camera was a day behind and I had not caught that, thanks. I would not have guessed about that error, but I guess anything is possible!
Thanks again. I just changed the day and the pictures are now capture time edited and synced.
Great. I've made similar mistakes several times over the years. I've got an expensive calibrated monitor and prescription computer glasses and I still find I'm often misreading the low-contrast user interface.
