ADL chokes on application.xml that includes double dashes

Hopefully this is helpful to some of you that are hunting down a random compiling error.

I've found that adl will choke when you use a a filename or description with a '--' in the field value. (That's a double dash.) Other fields may break the compile, too, but I've seen evidence on both.

I don't think this is an issue with XML, I think it's legal to use double dashes. Adobe, if you are listening, you might want to consider this a bug report.
