    V12 DB xtra Version 3

    Level 7
      Ok, I'm officially at the pulling hair out point in my project.

      I have found that the fileXtra4 method "fx_volumeIsCDROM" doesn't recognize
      the CD drive when a CD is mounted. I'm running 10.3.9 in Director MX. So I
      compromised and used "fx_volumeIsRemovable" which returned the proper value
      and I thought my problem was solved. Now a tester who is running 10.5.x
      gets a handler not defined error for that call. The xtras folder has the
      carbon and non-carbon version of the xtra in it. Any ideas why this is
      happening?

          Oops. Subject should have read "fileXtra4"

            Presumably it runs in Rosetta then.

            Do you mean a version for OS9 and another for OSX?
            Do you check the xtra instance after creation:
            --
            fx4 = xtra("FileXtra4").new()
            if ( ilk(fx4, #instance) = 0 ) then
            alert "Xtra instantiation failed"
            exit
            end if
            -- ...

              The extra is definitely there that's how I get the disk list and there's no
              error there.
