How do I get Adobe Digital Editions to recognize my ebooks to be downloaded to my nook? I get an error everytime I try to download to my nook .

When I drag book to the nook it gives me a red signal and says it cannot download ebook to the nook.
You need to authorize your Nook -- see options/settings next to nook icon
There seems to be an issue in Adobe 'activation server' not being accessible. Has anyone else gotten this message and resolved it?
I do not understand how I can download an upgrade and then be told upon trying to activate to make sure my internet connection is open.
