Feedback request: How would be easier for you to invite users?

      Hi everyone,

We are looking at how to improve the work flow of inviting your customers to edit the site. We've seen your reports that the email doesn't always reach the invitees as it's probably blocked by spam filters.

Please reply here with your suggestions on how to make inviting users easier for you. For example, maybe have an option to copy to clipboard the invite URL so you can send it to the invitee yourself.

      Thanks,
      Marius

          HI Marius,
Well, let's make this a boffo product. First and foremost is the email invitations. I have attempted twelve (12) invitations and only two (2) have made it through? I am an experienced website developer and have to get emails through everything, and usually do. I have completely removed spam/fireblocks, etc., from some of those to whom I have sent invitations, and yet, they still never arrived. If you would like help on emailing your customers, maybe I could be of assistance? That is the greatest complaint. Maybe the only real complaint, as the product works seemingly flawlessly when I and my designers have tried it. Of course, the lack of 'remember me' working is understandable, as it is a 'beta' product. Never has it 'remembered me'.
All kidding aside, the product is just what I have wanted for years. The 'contribute' thing is just not working, so we need this fresh approach. Please let us test it further by fixing the 'invitation ' thing. It can't get out of Beta without working well at that level. Let me know how I can help, I have the time and the knowledge to do something for the program's future.
          Regards,

PS: When attempting to Preview this note, your server was so busy that I had to abort. I have noticed in the past couple of months that so many 'improvements' are coming out of Adobe that your response performance has deteriorated significantly. Perhaps some effort should be aimed in that direction?

As a quick reply, Florin, I have checked all that you have specified, regarding Flash permissions, etc. I am running Vista, with Flash 10.0.12.36, both permission boxes are checked and the slider is way up. I just checked out the 'remember me' thing as you prescribed and it still does not work. I assume you are planting a cookie, though I must admit I haven't looked for it. I use session control all over the world with my PHP/MYSQL work, and 'remember me' works for virtually dozens of other sites on this machine. I have just tried it on two other machines, and neither works. Both machines work on other 'remember me' sites.

I would definitely like to see the URL pastable from the clipboard. I would DEFINITELY like to have a copy of the email sent to my address (similar to what Acrobat does when setting up Shared Review) so I see what's been sent out and can verify that it did, in fact, go out. In either case, if the invitation email is blocked by spam filters, I have a copy that I can forward, without having to jump through hoops.

I would like invitations that are sent out to actually activate upon the request. They too didn't work when I initially launched them. I'm going to try another round of email invites today.

                  Nathan,

Would you please detail on what you mean by invitations to actually activate upon the request?

The invite emails are sent immediately. The issue we identified so far is that they don't reach the invitees.

                  Thanks for your feedback.

                    Thanks everyone for your feedback!

In this release we made a change in how the invites are sent. They are now originating from an @adobe.com address, which should largely decrease the chances to end up filtered as spam. We will monitor your feedback and continue to investigate the causes if invitation email not reaching users will continue to be an issue.

                    Thanks again for your support,

                    Marius
