I recently bought a Canon 35mm F1.4L lens. In the "Lens Corrections" section, Lightroom shows "unable to locate a matching profile automatically". When I select Canon from the "Make" list, Lightroom would pick the "15mm f2.8" profile. If I click the lens "Model" list, the Canon 35mm F1.4L is not listed. The Canon 3.5mm F1.4L is actually in the supported lens (Work with lens profiles in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Camera Raw). Is there anything I didn't do right? My Lightroom is updated to the most recent version from the Creative Cloud. I am scratching my head and hope that somebody can tell how to get the correct lens correction profile. Thank you very much in advance.
Most of the lens profiles that Lightroom furnishes only show up if you are editing a raw file. Most of them are not available for non-raws. Are you editing a JPEG?
As Hal says, most profiles are only for raw and not JPG. Here are the Canon profiles I see for JPG:
And here is a portion of the list of Canon lens profiles for a raw file where there are 2 versions of the 35mm f/1.4L, the original and the mark 2:
This is in LR CC 2015.4/LR 6.4. Older versions have less but the profile support matrix shows what version of LR is needed.
Thank you, Hal and ssprengel. Yes, you are right. I was taking jpg with this lens, and never thought of this. A real surprise. But, this seems to be a good way to encourages people to take raw!
