LR Mobile is only for the CC version. In LR 6 it is only a 30 day trial.
The reason you have gotten no where is because LR 6 does not include LR Mobile. Sure I guess you can install LR mobile on your iOS or Android device and use it to catalog your images and do minor editing but you can't Sync it up with the desktop/computer version of LR if you have LR 6. You need LR CC, IE the creative cloud subscription based LR.
This has been fairly well documented by Adobe.
I did not want an Lr Mobile and was not trying to sync it to any other devices besides my iMac. I just want to use it for photo processing on my iMac.
That is what I thought I was buying and am unable to get it installed properly.
Oh Ok. Sorry I misread your post.
Have you signed in and enter the serial number you got when you bought the stand alone LR 6 version? Also if the serial number you got is for the Upgrade of LR 6 you will need a serial number from a previous version.
Go to the help menu and Sign In. Once you do that with an Adobe ID that is not associated with a subscription plan LR will ask for a serial number. You will need to be connected to the internet when you do all of this.
Whether you want it or not, Lightroom 6 includes a 30 day trial of the Lightroom Mobile features. When you receive the message that the trial of Lightroom Mobile has expired, it is only the trial version of the mobile features that has expired. You can stop that message from displaying if you click on the identity plate and turn off mobile sync.
Thanks. It was marked “Paused” (off). But I finally realized I could just go to Import and another screen would open allowing me to work in Lr. Annoying that the Trial screen opens every time I open Lr. But thanks, your response actually helped … nudged me to try again!
Thanks. Did akll that, but finally realized I could just go to Import and could work in the regular Lr. Annoying that the trial screen opens every time I open Lr.
Thanks for your willingness to help.
