The video preview monitor is no longer working correctly. When I attempt to play the video, the time marker advances, but the image freezes until I click on where the clip in the monitor. The same thing happens when using Edit Worspace>Edit Effects>Motion to move the clip; the preview monitor does not reflect the position change until I click said clip in the monitor. This happens with both .wmv clips and animated .png files. Everything was fine until I switched from the default format preset to the HDV 720p format. The problem persists even when I make a new project in the old format, although the first project using the default format does not have this problem. Does anybody know what the problem might be?
I'm on a machine with an Intel Core i7-3770 CPU clocked at 3.40 GHz, an NVidia GeForce GTX 750Ti graphics card, and Windows 8.0.
Premiere Elements version 10 has a known issue with nVidia drivers.
Short of upgrading to another version of Premiere Elements, AT Romano offers this great solution on her blog.
Deleting BadDrivers.txt didn't fix anything. I'll just stick to the DV NHTSC format, which seems to be the only one which works properly.
Re-install you graphicscard driver, or update to the latest driver.
See if that will help.
