    detect DVD player software

    Makkia
      Hello,
      this is the first time that I write here.

      My problem is:
      How can I detect the DVD Player installed in my system with lingo?

      I need to know if the player are DirectShow compatible.

      Thank you,
      Ciao

            Hi,

            You might be able to query the DVD driver using the free shellXtra ( http://staff.dasdeck.de/valentin/xtras/). For example (untested):

            driverDetails = shell_cmd("driverquery /fo csv", RETURN)

            If you are using DirectMedia Xtra, just use the IsDirectShowInstalled() method of the Xtra. Otherwise, you could use BuddyAPI (or FileXtra, etc) to query the registry -- google for DirectShow Registry settings (it is something like

            HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DirectX\DirectShow\WMVDecoder]
