          A photo has always pixels. But for print the effective resolution in InDesign has to have between 240 to 300ppi.

          Save the image as PSD and in InDesign import it via File > Place… In the link panel you will see if you select the image the image resolution and the effective resolution. If it is lower than 240ppi you will have quality problems when you print the file.


          If you need to see the image on screen in high quality, select the image and in the right mouse context menu change to high quality preview in InDesign.
