Creating Form in Indesign: Text Field Borders vanishing

    Creativexs Level 1

Hope someone can help! I'm creating lots of forms in Indesign. I have a problem with the Field Borders once it's exported to PDF.

I set up the form fields in the Indesign Document as graphic frames with a 0.5pt keyline in black, these are embedded within the main text frame for the page. These are then converted to Text Fields through the 'Buttons and Forms' pallette. Export the pdf as an interactive pdf.

When I first look at the pdf in Acrobat (or Reader) it is fine.

However after typing in some sample data some of the border vanishes. I've tried clearing the form but they still are not visible.

Zooming in and out doesn't work. I've tried aligning the rule to outside/inside/centre of frame, it makes no difference. I've tried setting the fields as free-floating on the page, doesn't work. The only workaround I've found is to set the border at 1pt - however this makes the form look very heavy. Is there any way round this or is 1pt the minimum line width that will work in this type of document?

If anyone has any bright ideas that would be marvellous! Thank you.
