After updating to Animate CC today, I noticed a problem that is severely bogging down my workflow.
After each stroke I make (whether it be with the brush tool, paint brush, or pencil) there is a 1-4 second pause that occurs before the program fully finishes processing the stroke and registers it onto the canvas. This makes it very difficult to lay down consecutive brush strokes and also makes animating very slow.
Similarly, the program seems to be taking its sweet time after I click an area to fill using the paint bucket tool, especially when Close Gaps is enabled. The program takes anywhere from one to ten seconds to calculate if the shape can be filled in, and then either fills it or doesn't. During this long pause, I cannot do anything in the program and have no choice but to wait and see what happens.
Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix these lag spikes?
I am using Windows 10 and the latest Adobe Animate CC release.
Some new developments.
I've found out the cause of the brush lag spikes. Make sure when using the Paint Brush tool to enable "Paint As Fill". Make sure Object Drawing Mode is off. This improved the speed of brush stroke registration greatly.
However the fill tool still has considerable lag. Has anyone found out a way to make it work faster without having to turn off Close Gaps?
strangely when I adjusted the smoothing on the regular brush the lag disappeared, might be worth changing around.
I use 0 smoothing most of the time.
