Could you please make sure if the export location is set correctly and has full read and write permissions?
Do you have access to original images through Lightroom or, are they smart previews?

Assuming a Mac OS, what version?
What exact NUMBER version of lightroom (x.y.z)?
What is the exact wording of the error message?
My pictures are open in a catalog, where they have always been. I have never had a problem with the full read and write permissions. Yes the export location is correct. I even tried to export just a few photos versus the entire set to just the desktop and it still wouldn't do that.
Yes Mac OS X, version 10.9.5
Lightroom 4.4, mlp, ret, ue
The message reads: Some export operations could not be performed. The following file could not be found, then it lists every photo I selected to export.
Hope this helps? Sorry, this is the first time I have had a problem with Lightroom in 4 years so I am out of practice at trying to "fix" anything or "find info" haha. thanks!
somehow my pictures went offline, I figured it out and relocated them. In the future how do I prevent this from happening again? Or rather, what did I do to make them go offline or missing in the first place?

Were the images off-line or missing?
The most common cause for off-line is that your external drive, or your network connection, is unplugged.
The most common cause of missing is using Finder to move your files or folders.
They were missing- so I followed the instructions Chetna had given another user again, and clicked the ? in the top right corner of the pictured and located it on my hard drive. I had rename the file outside of lightroom and that messed everything up I guess? I condensed a lot of files into 1 large folder and moving them around must have made them all go missing.
Yeah, you should do your reorganizing (moving of photos) in LR not outside of LR. That way they won’t get disconnected.
