Be aware that lens profiles are specific to a raw or jpeg/tiff (already rendered files) file, with the vast majority being specific to the raw file from your camera model. The lens profiles are automatically installed when you install or update Lightroom. So the latest version of Lightroom CC 2015.4 / LR 6.4 will have all the currently available profiles in the default location. Other profiles created by the Adobe Lens Profile creator by the user or other party can be installed in the user folder specifically for this purpose. Also if a lens profile is created for a Nikon FF Camera Model it will not be automatically recognised if the raw file is from a Nikon APS-C sensor model.
If your lens is not automatically detected then you should try to locate it manually and if successful you can save it as a default so that Lightroom should locate for future imports.
Thanks for your help.
I'm confused as it used to detect it correctly, with the same camera/lens combo but it will no longer find the lens I'm using (Nikon 24-120mm F/4).
Is there somewhere to download that profile ?
Thanks in advance.
Perhaps, your lens is not being detected because you are working with a JPG not a raw file, and lens profiles are primarily for raw files, only.
No I always shoot raw.. but for some reason all is well with the world again! Thanks for taking the time
Yeah, because your current photo is raw, not JPG, PSD, TIF, etc.
