I'm using CS6 on Mac OS X El Capitan and InDesign crashes several times a day. Usually, I am trying to open my fonts menu and/or I will be going back and forth between several documents when it decides to crash. I receive the 'out of memory' error when it crashes as well. I'm running a 2015 Macbook Pro with 512 SSD and 16GB memory and my activity monitor shows plenty of memory available when this happens.
I've tried reinstalling the entire suite and am still having this issue. Is there a way to allocate more memory to InDesign? Anyone else have any suggestions on how to solve this issue?
You might upgrade to Creative Cloud, as CS6 was never supposed to work on El Capitan as it lacks of full compatibility. CS6 from the CC subscription works better as it was updated several times later.
Thanks for the advice. I'm totally new when it comes to the CC but is there a discount for upgrading from CS6?
There are special offers from time to time, but right now, no.
