Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details.
Not sure what you need but here goes:
Here are the errors are seeing with Master Collection CS6
Have you updated AE to version 11.0.4? If not, you should.
Unfortunately we have not upgraded to 11.0.4 and don't have plans to upgrade this year.
It's not an upgrade. It's an upDATE to AE CS6. It fixes bugs. If your AE version reads anything less than 11.0.4, you should get it. It won't cost you a dime.
sorry upDATED the system
Could we see the rest of the path it's trying to open from? Are there any odd characters in there? Punctuation marks? Non-English or non-standard characters? How long is it?
Try moving the project you're trying to open to a different location that isn't as many folders deep.
Try importing that project into a brand new project.
Below is the complete path. We have tried several things
Moved the project to the root of the drive, "a location the isnt as many folders deep".
Rendered to a different drive
Imported the project into a new project
for each of these we got the same error (see below).
aerender Error: After Effects error: Unable to call openFast because of parameter 1. Path is not valid. Path: \\Volumes\GFX Archive 2015_1\2015 Archive\2015_Projects\JAMES_BOND_MARATHON_2015\Collected\AE\EPL\EPL_BOND_folder\EPL_BOND_ Final_1.aep
at Deadline.Plugins.ScriptPlugin.RenderTasks(String taskId, Int32 startFrame, Int32 endFrame, String& outMessage, AbortLevel& abortLevel)
I also reached out to Thinkbox (the folks that make the rendering software we use) about this error. Thinkbox suggested using .aepx instead of .aep and for whatever using .aepx reason that resolved the error.
Can anyone tell me the difference between .aep and .aepx in relation to rendering projects?
