If you need to use this for business and work with CC subscribers, you will be throwing your money away. For starters, CS6 is unsupported on new operating systems and hardware you’re going to look foolish asking clients to save files back for you.
InDesign CS6 costs about $700 and you will need to call Adobe directly at which time they will warn you that you are buying an end of life product.
CS6 will open files from earlier versions.
It’s your money but know the facts before spending it.
Thanks for you reply sir, are you confirming that Indesign files saved using CS4 can for sure be opened with CS6?
When when you say "CS6" — do you mean CS6 Indesign or just CS6 alone? — i dont know the difference thats why im asking.
No, sir you'r wrong — i haven't posted this question before. BTW there is a "report" button you can push if you think it's a duplicate and send it to adobe for confirmation — instead of hijacking the thread like this — it's rude sir.

Earlier i saw that Adobe was selling CS6 which included my needed software — InDesign — but now i can't find it. Is it still possible to purchase it from Adobe? If not — is there a second party which has legal owners right acceptability from Adobe i.e which Adobe have an agreement with — from where i can purchase it — legally ?"
And Steve Werner has given you a useful answer, that is similar to Bob's, which is that if you're a professional you should upgrade to InDesign CC2014/2015
Sir, with all due respect, you are missing my point. The point is that in this thread im asking about if CS6 can open CS4 files — while in the thread you are referring to is about sales i.e purchasing a product. My question in both are unrelated to each other. Further, sir Bob says that CS6 will open files from earlier version — while sir Steve does not inform me about that. So there answer is not absolutley alike.
But i have now realised that CS6 Indesign can indeed open CS4 Indesign files and earlier than CS6 indesign files. So if one has files saved using earlier versions of Indesign than CS6 Indesign — then it's better to buy CS6 Indesign with lifetime license.
Anyway, thanks for your interest.
Problem solved. Case closed.
