Please check whether is there any update available for the software after going through "help > check for updates "
Follow this thread to reset the preferences for the Acrobat software :- https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1595848
Check whether is this happening with certain PDF Files or with all secure pdf's.(using which application these secure files being created )
Also test for the same after uninstalling & reinstalling the Acrobat Pro DC 2015 in new user account with the Admin rights.
Thank you for your response.
I'm already on the latest version of DC.
I deleted prefs as per your link.
Uninstalled and reinstalled into new user account.
Still happening. It happens with any kind of PDF whatsoever, created in any program. I have 3 iMacs in the studio here with the same issue. We're all on the same OS - 10.10.5. We have 30+ other Macs on El Capitain that DO NOT have this issue with the same version of Acro DC.
Any other ideas? Other than upgrading to El Capitain, because there are no drivers for our printer yet so we cannot.
Does it happen if Acrobat Pro is already open, and you use open from the file menu? Or does it only happen if you cannot see Acrobat, and open with a double click?
It happens either way. The only way it won't happen is if I quit Acrobat before opening another file.
Only one thought left - is the file definitely closed, not still open perhaps on a tab or a different window? You see, I've never seen anything like this.
Yes, definitely closed completely. Not minimized, not hidden. 100% closed. I think it started to happen when I did a system update to 10.10.5 from 10.10.3 because I have never experienced this before, and since the El Capitain Macs here don't have this problem, it's just those of us on 10.10.5 who do. Absolutely bizarre. And bloody annoying to say the least.
I was starting to wonder if it's a Mac OS feature to, when restarting an app, quickly flash up what was on screen (to give a sense of progress) before the app itself fills in. Maybe worth investigating.
I highly doubt that's an actual feature. That could get me into huge trouble, for example: if I had a client sitting at my desk when I open a pdf for them, but it flashes something I've done for their competitor that was open previously. Or a highly confidential financial document flashes in front of someone who shouldn't see it. Big problem.
It wouldn't be unique. For instance http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/a-closed-website-shows-briefly-when-opening-safari.182 8082/ describes that happening (with web sites, on iOS). So clearly Apple have at some time thought this was a good idea. However, I can't see it happening if the app is already open and you use File > Open - which was why I asked that. What's your exact Acrobat version?
I just can't see them doing this on purpose, and only with one OS version update, only to remove it again with the next update. I'm on the latest Acro Pro DC 2015. This just has to be some kind of glitch.
