    Controlling nested symbols

    Pete47 Level 1

      Hi there. I am using Animate CC and trying to build an animation for HTML5/Canvas deployment.

      I have nested a symbol within a symbol but I can't seem to address the second level nested symbol.

      The instance name of the parent symbol is called "Planet10" and the instance name of the symbol within the "Planet10" symbol is named "OrbitingRedMoon"

      My code looks like this:

      this.StopMoon.addEventListener("click", fl_MouseClickHandler_4.bind(this));

      function fl_MouseClickHandler_4()
      {
      this.Planet10.OrbitingRedMoon.stop();
      }

      I have tried various versions of the line containing the "stop()" command but just can't seem to get it right.

      Can anyone help me understand how to correctly address the symbol within a symbol?

      Thanks!
